Welcome to CAYR!

CAYR stands for "Come As You Are" and is the Young Adults group at the Abbotsford Church of the Nazarene. The term, "Young Adults" includes anyone from any background that has graduated from high school and is up to 30 something (or anyone who feels like a young adult)!. We call our selves, "Come As You Are" because we want people to do just that. Whether someone is a long time Christian, a new Christian, not a Christian, interested in Christianity, not interested in Christianity, having a great day, having a terrible day (you get the picture), we want them to come be a part of community just as they are. So, we invite people to our Sunday night coffee house (childcare provided) where we meet to engage in relationships, conversation, and the teachings of Jesus, and to our social gatherings to come just as they are.

This blog is meant to be an extension of our community. So far, there will be 3 sections that we want you to interact with. One will be called "Gatherings". This post will be for you to communicate your social gatherings (watching a hockey game, going out for dinner, going camping, going skiing/snowboarding, watching a movie, going for a hike, etc.) that you would like to open up to our young adults community. This way, we can just check the blog and find out what's happening and if we're interested meet you at your social gathering (so be sure to include details). It's easy, just post your gathering as a comment! Another entry will be called "Conversation". This entry is where we can ask questions, discuss the teaching we engaged in together on Sunday night, or converse about any issues we want to talk about. The final post will be called "Readings". If I get my act together, or we have a guest speaker, we'll post the Scripture reading ahead of time (or on the day of) so you can read the passage ahead of time that we will be discussing, or if you miss a night, you can read the passage so you can catch up (this is all if you want...you're not required to read anything to show up...it just might help you out).
